ABOUT YOUR INTERVIEW/PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Please arrive ON TIME for your scheduled appointment. You will most likely be meeting with the Director himself. He will look through your portfolio and assess your talent level and level of art training. In your interview he may ask questions as to why you want to be a professional artist, and how do you see yourself making a living as an artist in today’s world. He will discuss the duCret expectations for students and may inquire of your life as it is now. He will help you to understand the commitments you will have to make to become a full time student. Office staff will help you to work out a financial arrangement or will direct those who qualify for financial aid to the proper steps for application for aid. You will walk out of your interview with a very clear idea as to whether duCret holds opportunities for you. If you are not able to commit to a full time program, you will have the option to choose to be a part time student and will still be able to participate in any programs we have for the general public – such as our Open studios and periodic workshops.
